William looked like he was in great shape here. Had he stayed at that weight, I truly believe he is a Hall A Fame player.

Just a wonderful humble guy who never let his celebrity go..

to his head. Went back to laying bricks with his father-in-law after his football career. He could have sat back and done nothing but cash in on his fame, but he did not. Michael Dean is also a top notch guy - great family.

Mine also. He was a gamechanger in his day.***

Quite possibly the most dominant freshman lineman I have ...

ever seen. I was to the '81 Georgia game, on the hill. When he came in the game a friend of mine, from Georgia, said "Whoa .. who is 66?" when he trotted on the field. I swear he blocked the sun. The 'Dogs were totally unprepared for him.

Jeff Davis was also nasty that game - Walker was scared of him and Danny Triplett. But in my opinion it was Perry and William Devane - who used to babysit for my daughter - who were the stars of that game.

I also remember watching the Jim Carlin show and he pointed out 2 players - 66 and of course 3 (who he felt was our MVP). I was at that game, too, in Columbia, and remember the blocked punt that turned momentum.
