He says that bc his measurables show

A 236 pound defensive end. NFL scouts will have to do their research to know how good he is. This would be Vics only concern and that's what kiper is stressing. A lot of know nothings will read his name on a list look at his measurables and say he's a 2nd or 3rd round type of candidate not a throw the bank at him type of risk. What is his position? Outside LB in a 3-4? He's played 4-3 at clemson so he may need to learn a lot of new technique. It's going to be a challenge for him no doubt.

Beasley is very very strong for his size.

He's going against lineman that out weigh him 50+pounds. When he gets into the NFL and puts on some weight, he will be one of the best in the league

The sports talk around here is very very skeptical. Not that they know anything about Beasley, but with the Bucs having fallen flat on their face with both Adams and Bowers, Beasley would be a tough sell for a team that desperately needs a game changing DE amongst other things. I wonder if other teams would consider our previous DE's performance in evaluating Vic?

Yep, basically like Von Miller but he'll have to do it a little more extensively...because Miller actually played as a LB in his senior year at A&M....which many suspect is why he kind of came out of nowhere to the top of the draft boards when that wouldn't have been possible for him as an undersized DE.

Gaines was actually pretty good before he died you do know that right? And everybody knew about bowers knee. So they didn't exactly "fall on their face" with those two picks.

I am as biased as any Clemson man

But have to pick a fight here. Adams had a pretty decent rookie season but after that, he was awful. As the 4th pick in the draft, expectations were high. He never sniffed them. In a four year career, he had less than a 100 tackles, a handful of sacks, lost his starting position in year two and was subsequently traded to the Bears.
Bowers has the knee but that caused a pretty good draft day slide. Bucs thought he was a steal. Unfortunately, he has never been in shape. He shows spotty effort and if his name was clowney you'd rip him a new one. He has never kept a starting spot on a pretty dreadful d-line (one interior lineman aside).
By any objective measurement, neither of the two ended up even being close to their draft hype.
Now you know this.

I spoke prematurely in my defense of a former tiger (Adams) before checking the stats. I don't rescind the statement but in case the response seemed condescending in tone I do rescind that part of it. It takes d-lineman a few years to develop and his first two years were decent by standards and his third year not so great. No comment on bowers because I don't feel he should've been considered a steal with the knee problem. I say that solely based on that issue and not his ability.

His combine numbers are going to blow people away. I bet he runs a faster 40 than the Clown and doubles him in the bench.
