Qualifications for being an espn expert: previously have played/coached football, no longer be employed by a team (red flag), and talk loudly.

Joey bag of donuts galloway, jesse palmer, todd mcshay, David polok, etc aren't experts. They're people who talk loudly about football, but who obviously don't know enough about it to be employed by actual football teams/programs.

Bama took the #1 spot away from Clemson after beating Clemson in the 2015 NC game, and has stayed #1 even after Clemson beat them in the 2016 NC game, and they are still #1. Something very wrong about that, and it tells me that something in the milk ain't clean if that is the way the X squirts see it!!!

They get paid to express "informed" opinion. If they had the nerve, they'd keep a running score of their expert picks. Likely be about 50/50, like forecasting wx. They have poor records picking the Tigers in tough games.
