He is right. What a sorry state of affairs in my home state of NC. Vote them out.

LOL. Did Pat McCrory kick the ACC out of Charlotte?

Sorry, but this decision is on the ACC, which I believe means it is in the Presidents of the Universities. They are choosing to leave over a political difference. They were welcome in the state of NC and declined. Blame President James Clements if you are upset with this.

I had 6. Will not attend. Hope the ACC gets the same message being received by the NFL. Sports fans are not interested in your social justice carp.

This whole thing is very unfortunate.

I had 4 tickets for CLT... I will not be traveling to Fl if we make it.
If the ACC wants to play politics, I'll play by not supporting. I have similar feelings for any celebrity, entertainer, or sports figure. I've seen PearlJam and was very annoyed that Eddie spent over 30 min lecturing on politics. Won't buy a ticket of his again. This has nothing to do with my personal political views- I don't want to see my politicians try to entertain and I don't want to see my entertainers try politics. Recently saw Dave Matthews in CLT; he released a notice prior to the concert saying the proceeds from his show will go to LGBT support. I was concerned he was going to waste concert time with lecturing, but he played straight through for 3+ hours. It was awesome and I wish the ACC would've come to a similar conclusion or at least not sold tickets to their event until the chose a venue.

It's an unprecedented and discriminatory law passed.

It's beyond politicking what they're doing, it's about protecting civil rights and discrimination (beyond just transsexuals in the bathroom).
I agree, it's disappointed seeing major entertainment move out of the state, and yet Pat McCrory doubled down on his stupid with this, there's a reason Roy Cooper will beat him out. I like what some have done like Dave Matthews, continuing the event and donating the proceeds. Tosh.0 announced two nights ago he's not coming to UNC's campus, which was a bummer.
I can't imagine it was an easy decision for the ACC, they have to know they're losing money doing this, but ultimately they're taking a lot of money away from Charlotte to prove their point. I had 2 tickets for CLT, probably wont' go to Orlando.

Eddie Vedder spent "over 30 min" lecturing about politics?

This is so far beyond hyperbole, it's laughable. I've seen them more than 10 times and yes, he talks politics frequently. But I'd be shocked if the total running time of his dialogues ever goes beyond 5-10 minutes. You're insinuating that he spent 20% of the show giving a speech. Just because you disagree with with, it doesn't entitle you to create your own facts and reality.

Makes no sense. Orlando isn't close for anyone. At least the District is somewhat centrally located.

I find it a little interesting they stripped the game from Charlotte because of state legislation against the LGBT community, and moved it to a city where a mass killing occurred at a LGBT nightclub.
Now I know, I know, the city of Orlando did not pass any legislation and this was likely one random crazy person that did the shooting. But this whole thing just feels like political grandstanding and is so hypocritical.

The law was also more than just against the LGBT community.

This is not the answer--if they cannot come up with a better solution, they may need to try alternating sites of the division champ. Even the schools that travel well will not fill this stadium. I don't think anyone but Fla St would fill it.

I had 4 tickets, and now instead of a 2 hr drive it would be almost 7 hrs. No thank you, I will watch on TV . Save my money for the playoff game and NC. Unless Miami makes it there won't be 30k and prolly not even if the U is there.

Never really thought about that. Thanks to it's good weather, Orlando doesn't really have an off season compared to the rest of the tourism world meaning non Florida ACC fans are possibly already late to the table for great air fare and hotel rates. This assumes that the good hotels aren't already in short supply.

We had 8 tickets. Now we might have 3 who "could" go. My family is going our separate ways for thanksgiving....this was going to be our chance to get together. This decision makes me sad.

for failure to perform on an existing contract, since tickets had already been bought and sold on the premise that the game would be in Charlotte. Sue 'em for $50,000,000.00 .
