The difference between a good coach and Brad Brownell

A good coach like Jamie Dixon had his team doing the things it needed to do to have a chance to win the game.

A good coach can win games with a decent talent level. Brownell is better than just a good coach. He finished 6th in the ACC and was a few OT losses to a berth in the NCAA tourney w a team that should have been a bottom feeder.
Let's not bash the coach, I think he has done a great job this year.

If we have no talent, who is at fault?
Let's see, hmmmm, could it be the Head Coach?

How long has he been here? How much support does the team get? I know you are upset because it's only a matter of minutes before a bully dunks your head in the toilet.

WWS--You obviously are not a real Clemson fan. If Brad Brownell had the talent that Pitt's coach had, he would have had his team stomping Pittterday. You must not perceive that fact.
Coach Dixon gave me the perception of Dean Smith of yesteryear in the game. He complained about every call that did not favor Pitt. He could have been Tee'd up several times but the refs were generous with his rants. I think Clemson learned a big lesson yesterday. Sometimes you gain more in a close loss than you would have by winning.
We surely snatched defeat from the jaws of victory!

A real Clemson fan finds it not acceptable to squander games like yesterday with a poorly Coach team at the end of the game.
A real Clemson fan finds it not acceptable to accept losing to the Coots five years in a row in football and the pathetic recent history in baseball to the Coots.
Yes, I am a Real Clemson fan.

several recruits and their parents over to his house for a bbq which WAS an impermissable gift. When NCAA investigators began sniffing around again, Pearl lied to them, lied to his AD, and called the visiting parents and asked them to lie to NCAA investigators.

Brownell had a timeout, he did not use, could have thrown long.

no, I was at the game, Brownell was furiously trying
Mar 9, 2014, 10:11 AM
|

to call a timeout but the ref wouldn't give it to him, He literally was jumping around the court trying to get his attention. That's on the ref to not know that there's a good chance the timeout would be called and be watching for it.

have; always will.
The important question is whether or not we have achieved more this year than most expected? Most, including you, WWS, I believe would answer that affirmatively.
The next step is to continue our support and encouragement.

You mean like that fine job Dixon did coaching vs. NC State?
Mar 9, 2014, 10:40 AM
|
|
Or against Boston College?
Or his team's massacre at the hands of Duke?
All against schools your so-called inferior Brad Brownell managed to win this year. But your statement that Pitt's ability to win in the clutch with three redshirt seniors in the starting lineup vs. our guys ... none of whom have seen a winning ACC season before this year ... somehow implicates Brownell as an inferior coach is beyond laughable.

Are you crazy? Pittsburgh's coach had his team mugging us and the refs didn't call it. I doubt if there is any more physical team than we played yesterday and we still should have won the game.
