Etienne's fumble pivotal

Sep 29, 2019, 4:39 PM

We had just weathered the original burst from UNC and were well on the way to sapping the energy out of the Tarheels and their fans when, for the second time in two weeks, Travis put the ball on the ground. All of a sudden, Mo was again wearing a blue jersey.

Don't think for one moment that Mack Brown didn't take note of ETN's fumble last week against Charlotte.

We can expect that our opponents from here on in will be going for the strip every time he touches the ball.

Hope #9 is up to the challenge.

Hope he is too because you can't compete for rushing titles on the bench.

After 4 straight games where he has not even gained 80 yards, I don’t think Travis is competing for a rushing title this year.

This game reminded me of the Pitt game 2 years ago. I remember us moving the ball well but Deshaun throwing the INT in the endzone and we lost a few fumbles. It all allowed Pitt to hang around and start thinking they could win the game which they did. The good news is the team played much better after the loss and we made it to the playoffs. So I am super happy we won yesterday and I expect the second half of the season to be stellar with another trip to the playoffs.

Yep, same as with nc state game... I consider the failed 4th down a turnover.

That, and those false start penalties...

...that turned 3rd and ones to 3rd and sixes.

Sometimes it's the little plays that turn out to be the big plays.

ETN's fumble and AJ Terrell's utter disrespect of the UNC receiver on their opening drive are the main reasons the game was so close.

Those two plays gave life to a dead offense.

It happens. I hope teams do start trying to strip etienne

In the 2nd level because that's just more weak arm tackles for him to break. I'll be concerned if he loses a few more, right now I'm not at all.
