Traditionally, this is how Clemson hoops prospers. This is how we are able to compete in the ACC.

We have never in the past and will probably never in the future be able to recruit the caliber of player that signs with Duke and UNC .. or even Maryland for that matter.

What we can do, however is to continue to evaluate potential effectively and sign the kids who evolve into the Horace Grants and the Larry Nances once they begin to mature and fill out.

Good looking propspect here.

Don't forget Elden Campbell. He was 6-7 when he signed.

Elden 6'7" ?? You sure?

Feb 16, 2011, 7:20 PM

I'm looking at the team photo of him Elden's first year standing next to Horace Grant and he is about 2 inches taller than Grant the senior.

Elden's last year in the NBA, he is listed as 7'0" 279 lbs!

I remember Elden being skinny and awkward as a freshman, but I don't remember him ever being under 6'9" at Clemson.

Of course, there are a LOT of things I don't remember, LOL.

When he SIGNED. He grew like four inches his senior year in high school.

B-Meist, I don't believe there is an "e" in the middle of his name.

Why is ESPN making him out to be a "4"

Feb 16, 2011, 8:48 PM

From what I've read on him, and seen on youtube, he's a natural small forward. We're not looking for him to become Olu Babola....he'll be a dynamic 3 if he just puts on another 1-2 inches, if not then a SG/SF tweener. Power forward-----heck no.

They said if he grows 2 inches and puts on 20 lbs, he'd be a 4. Otherwise, he's a 3.
