East not the Least in 2018...

Nov 14, 2018, 1:27 PM

The SEC East is currently 7-5 against the SEC West this season. If the East wins one of the remaining three cross-division games (Ole Miss/Vandy, Missouri/Arkansas, SECCG), then they will win the season series between the two divisions for the first time in 10 years, since Tim Tebow led the Gators to a national title.

Here are the records from the past 10 years (includes SEC title game and playoff matchups). I bolded the East wins for visual aid:

2017 - West 12-4
2016 - West 10-5
2015 - West 13-2
2014 - West 11-4
2013 - West 9-6
2012 - West 8-7
2011 - West 13-6
2010 - West 16-3
2009 - West 12-7
2008 - East 12-7
2007 - East 10-9
2006 - East 10-9
2005 - East 10-9

2004 - West 11-8
2003 - West 12-7
2002 - East 10-9
2001 - West 10-9
2000 - West 10-9
1999 - West 10-9
1998 - East 12-7
1997 - East 10-9
1996 - East 11-8

1995 - TIE 9-9-1
1994 - West 7-11-1
1993 - West 8-10-1
1992 - West 10-9

Barring a significant upset...

The SEC East is going to go 3-1 against the ACC in Week 13 for the first time since 2013.

And that will likely happen. But, doesn't that speak to how "it's all in the timing and in the match up"! FSU and L'ville are dumpster fires no question. The ACC beat up on those same two teams! I think the narrative the SEC is better would be cemented if: those same two teams were going to get beaten after having just having their way in the ACC! I.E. you are ACC good but not SEC good. No. Those teams are bad everywhere!

Georgia Tech could pull off the upset if PAW Johnson calls a hulluva game and they execute perfectly! That offense is hard to stop when executed; but more than likely UGA wins that. Would not surprise me if GT won though.

I hope we not just win against SCAR but we open a can up! The greater the margin of victory; the more Alabama paraphernalia will be suddenly bought in South Carolina and displayed! I swear I saw this dude with an old faded Lamecock sticker but they had the big A flags waving in the window. They are a sad sad lot!

Re: East not the Least in 2018...

Excellent post! For various reasons this post speaks volumes. The SEC hype is always b/c SEC teams play each other! They pretty much all play inferior out of conference schedules. For example, S.F. Austin, N. Texas, Idaho, Murray St, MTSU, Char. Sou, Umass, So. Miss, etc. ACC schools as well; but the ACC gets no credit for playing and winning those games. The SEC does somehow. B/C their conference games "in wittle baby voice - are so haawwwddd"!

They ought to stop! There is nothing in the water and nothing besides Nick Saban at Bamer keeping them afloat as this supposed unstoppable conference. That's it. Done. Complete. Let Nicky Saban retire or go back to Michigan St and Bamer goes back to the dark ages. Stallings brought them back a bit. Shula struggled. Whoever was next before Saban struggled. It's not b/c of anything in the water and it's not a right they have. That man's "quality control" is the SEC!

The fact the East has a real shot at a winning record should send shock waves to all the folks so overly impressed with how Bamer has "rolled" through that side! And their OOC opponents have a record of what?
We don't think much about the SEC East but their side is currently beating the side Little Nicky and the big elephants reside on!

The conference doesn't always have a weak OOC slate...

Nov 14, 2018, 1:41 PM

But, as a whole, they do this year. The conference is a ridiculous 38-5 OOC this season. And they should go 8-0 OOC this weekend (closest line is 16 points).

But the interesting thing is that it's not SEC West-dominant, for once.
