ESPN's Linda Cohn tougher on the eyes these days

Sep 21, 2019, 3:00 AM

TV audiences are always kinder to aging media men than women. It's just the way it is. Go back some 10-15 years and there was less of Linda Cohn - about 30 pounds, and now at 60 (maybe 61), she has some serious turkey neck going on (needs a scarf or big necklace - or several).

She still sounds fine and was no doubt a pioneer in women getting into sports announcing. She had a rough spot or 2 with comments about her employer's politics, but all seems to be okay now. Apparently signed a new long-term contract with ESPN last year - but likely only good until they don't want her anymore. Well paid though at about $3-mil per year.

There's a reason television hires all these "model-type" young babes. Just a fact. Personally, I don't care for age discrimination (which is rampant in all industries). I have to wonder how long Cohn will stay employed. Maybe she'll be lucky.

Sad that a talented and accomplished woman, indeed a pioneer in sports journalism, has to try to look like a "model type" to keep her job.

And now after that depressing thought...GO TIGERS!!

Why do women go blonde when they are better suited to stay brunette? Why Linda changed her hair color to blonde at age 60 something is a mystery to me. Going blonde at that age makes women look cheap in my opinion. I'm a brunette guy.

Lighter hair supposedly looks less harsh against aging skin. A theory is that brunettes should go lighter as they age and blondes should go darker. Not dark brown or black, just darker. And that's "Hairtalk" for today.

With that kind of dough, i’d marry her sight unseen.

If they fired her over her age or looks, then ESPN would become COHN.

When was Linda Cohn ever “Easy on the Eyes”?

Sep 21, 2019, 10:36 AM

I’m asking for myself and a acquaintance.

Big time.

She is a long way removed from doing that Sportcenter

commercial where she mimicked the edge of the bathtub art pose scene from "As Good As It Gets." But, aren't we all.
