I'm sure Davis will play meaningful snaps. But Aidan Swanson, the kicker we have coming in, is going to immediately win the punting job and could be one of the best in the country if nobody messes with his technique. Watch his film: the ball absolutely explodes off his foot. Our yards per boot should go up by 8 or 10, which is a HUGE weapon for a reloading defense.

and will likely replace Spiers as the starter next season.

Hopefully his impact will be as noticeable as B.T. Potter's was this year.

I just watched some of his videos and you are correct, he will be a weapon. I think even more important than the distance is the height he gets on the ball which gives our guys plenty of time to get down the field and limit returns.

I think I was more impressed with his kickoffs. Having he and Potter next year will be a bonus.

We are figuratively and literally thin except for Nyles Pinckney next year! We need some girth on the DL. Anything to protect more than likely all new LB's.

A bunch of guys got snaps at DE which was great. KJ Henry is going to be a beast opposite XT. But, the middle we will be young and smaller. Unless I am forgetting a redshirt who has spent the last year putting on muscle/weight!
I know we have some 3 star guys coming in who may have to play and not redshirt b/c we are so thin there. I would love to be wrong!
I think all the other positions will be fine. I only worry about DT.

Pinckney is 300 and Jordan Williams is 310.

Xavier Kelly and Darnell Jeffries will hopefully be in the 285-290 range by next season.

We will be smaller than Dex but not exactly small.

I hate to agree with ESPN but if Tyler Davis comes in and can win a backup DT spot then he may play 20-25 plays per game.

If our offense performs at or near the same level as this season, then Swanson will only play 3-4 plays per game. Also 6 or 7 yards per punt is hardly game changing if we win by double digits.

Swanson may be the most important freshman in a game or two but I sure hope a punter isn't that important for the entire season.
