a lot of folks (myself probably included) often spoke wistfully of the time during Coach Ford's tenure when Clemson "recruited nationally"....those days disappeared for what seemed to be forever. But I don't think anyone would question the reality the Coach Swinney's staff is currently doing just that....recruiting on a national scale....Have the Tigers EVER had a player from Kansas commit?? I certainly don't remember one.....and carrying that strong a reputation from coast-to-coast sure is fun!!

recruit nationally to be a championship team. We can get the best of the best in FL, SC, NC, GA, VA. Don't waste time and resources in going beyond the region unless a kid from elsewhere show interest in us and we deem it neccessary to pay them a visit.

Danny didn't recruit nationally, but he owned SC and NC and did as good as anybody in Georgia and Florida
