Notre Dame and Clemson common opponents

I know our guys will have their hands full against ND, but I’m surprised at how much better we did against common opponents:

FSU
Clemson beat them 59-10 (49 points) away
ND beat them 42-13 (29 points) home

Wake
Clemson beat them 63-3 (60 points) away
ND beat them 56-27 (29 points) away

Pitt
Clemson beat them 42-10 (32 points) “neutral”
ND beat them 19-14 (5 points) home

The only one ND outperformed us:
Clemson beat Syracuse 27-23 (4 points) home
ND beat Syracuse 36-3 (33 points) neutral

So the only time they did better than us was when we played a team right after our former starter announced he was leaving, our new starter got hurt and our RS freshman back-up had to lead us to victory...compared to when they played Syracuse and Dungey got injured early in the game.

Really surprised...I guess that speaks to the point spread we are seeing.

As for Syracuse

Dungee was knocked out of the game against ND in the first quarter; TLaw was knocked out of the game against Clemson. All else being equal the Syracuse game isn't a great common opponent gauge as Syracuse lost their QB against ND and Clemson lost their QB against Syracuse.

If we would have played Cuse without Dungey for 3 full quarters, we would have beat them badly!!! As we will beat ND badly!!!:)
