Watching these NFL teams drafting players, I am understanding why some teams are terrible! Evidently, their research is flawed in some cases.

It’s almost like they don’t watch game film at all. It is as if they have a checklist to go by like...
1. Is said player 6-5
2. can the player jump x amount high
3. Is his 40 x amount of time
4. Does said player weigh this amount.
Well, all of them checked so he’s a perfect fit!
It’s not just the team scouts, it the so called “draft experts too”. There picks are usually so far off it’s unreal to think they are getting paid for this.

What I will say is if those boxes are checked, they won’t be criticized for the pick of the player is a bust!

Seems a lot of NFL coaches and GMs want to make drafting

some form of dark art and ignore the obvious in order
to make points like:
- We know stuff you Average Joes don't
- We're not following public opinion or what seems obvious
- We found a diamond in the rough
So they draft a lot of players from schools like Minnesota
State (the team from "Coach"), some of which are actually
good but faced different levels of competition, and pass for
7 rounds on a 4 year starter whose measurables were just as
good or better than other top picks and who played well in
big games including CFP and national championship games.
But it's their choice and they can do what they want.

The diamond in the rough. Like the dude from UC (university of Charleston West Virginia) ??. Not sayin the small school guys don’t have a chance, but I think it’s more of a stretch these days with the visibility of recruits nationally before college. A lot of scouts are old school and think they are finding the next howie long every time they dig deep into their minds.

I still can't believe that Danny Wuerffel didnt go first in the draft and slid until 4th round. That guy won the Heisman, was a 4 time SEC Champion, 2 time SEC 1st team, yet these idiots in the NFL drafted him 4th round. Then to top it off the league conspired against Wuerrfel once he got there. They only allowed him to throw for 12 tds and 22 interceptions before they chased him off to play in Europe. It's all politics. The best rarely get their fair chance. These GM's are idiots.
