I think on the hill side a post like this (still able to collapse) would be cool to run through.

Double the opportunity for injury

I've been saying for years we need to move the carpet off center to protect players from running into the goal posts. This is just plan dumb to add an extra pole for them to run into.

I understand where you are coming from, I feel with the open space it gives them an aiming point to just run through as opposed to having to choose left or right. Also it would look better imo.

The bottom of that goal post was our soccer goal in pe in high school when we played.

already allowed down there to disguise the post. If you add another just think of all the additional people/potential obstacles you're putting in the way. And right before a game?

If we could some how attach the post to the cord overhead that the net is attached too, that'd be the best imo

Players already have to be prepared for the game AND the flat area of the hill AND the media along with the existing post.

Not to mention they are hyped and trying to take in the moment. A typical player only gets to experience this, what, 21-28 times in his life, so he's looking around, seeing the crowd. There's just too much potential for major injury already.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

we are an elite program at the top of the mountain.

now, when you are 0-21 and beat New Mexico State, that's another situation entirely.
