Don't understand the disdain for NIT bid

I understand that BB has been here for a while with pretty much nothing to show, and yeah, that's frustrating but good grief. If you're a player, you want to compete no matter what it is, that's just what you do.
Yes we've had a disappointing season due to losing games we very well could have won, but being able to play post season is some extra valuable time for next years players and gives the seniors a few more games to put on the tiger paw.

The NIT is a tournament that young programs use as a stepping stone to making the NCAA tournament on a regular basis. Clemson is not a young program. It's year 7 of the Brownell regime . We are an ACC team. In 7 years we have made one NCAA and one NIT field. Please tell me why we should get excited with that record.

FSU was a 4 seed in the NIT last year, definitely weren't a "young" team so your point is ridiculously incorrect.

Yes! Clemson fans will argue and fight with any school or fans over our football and baseball teams. It's a fiery passion. Apathy is destroying Clemson basketball.

If I recall you stood behind Leggett too. Apathy was widespread in Leggetts last years. Many said keep him and give him a chance. His last season was a failure. Monte Lee was the needed change. Now its basketball. I don't want the program to fall so far that new coach has a major rebuilding job. What do you see in Brownell that makes you believe things will get better?

Derp agrees with a Clemson coach no matter what. A Clemson coach could make all his players become terrorists and derp would agree with him and defend him. He isn't capable of an original thought about sports.

It is actually very easy:
1. We went to the NCAA Tournament 3 straight years before Brownell came. The NIT is the peak of what he has built. It shows a clear regression in the program.
2. Last time we went to the NIT, we were duped into an awful contract extension.
3. There appears to be no end in sight to the Brownell era. It is always "He needs one more year for a fair shake" or "we are competitive (as long as you don't look at tangible results)" or "it isn't his fault _________ happened"
4. His staunchest defenders assured us we were an NCAA team even to the point most threw around Sweet Sixteen potential. Now we are at best a 3 seed in the NIT, which means we aren't even first 8 out of the NCAA.

It's not disdain for the NIT as much as it is disdain for

not being where they want to be.
A lot of fans are tired of not being [close to being] in the top 68 teams in the country. A place where a great sports school like Clemson should be most years.
It's like the football team going to the Birmingham bowl year after year and not ever being in "a big one."
Just leaves a bad taste in their mouths.
