I couldn’t agree with you any more. Wish I could TU a million. The only time I’ll watch em is when a Clemson team is beating the snot out of them.
Over the last few years with the draft, they could have filled up a lot of empty seats. If for no other reason, makes good business sense but imo better than that, have a better team.

I have never been a Panther fan, and I've always felt that they have turned their back on Clemson and Clemson players after using DV to play there home games when they had no place at the beginning of their Panther franchise when they needed us more than we needed them, and they have always turned a blind eye to Clemson's NFL talent. I would love to see that franchise fail!!!

Lol they have their own evaluations. Just like Clemson does, they sometimes recruit lower ranked players because maybe they see that they can develop them into a star. They don’t just disregard a Clemson player just because he went here. There have been a few Clemson players that has played for the panthers, Thomas Austin to name one. And they gave Boulware a chance to join the panthers after no one drafted him.

I’m not a Panthers fan, but I don’t really understand the big deal. Either like the Panthers or don’t like them, but I think it’s silly to stop pulling for a pro team because you feel they should be obliged to draft players from certain schools.

There are people here that will literally pull for whatever team has the most former tigers on it.

I get that, and I can understand someone pulling for Houston because of Watson and Nuk, or whatever team.
However, I don’t get pulling for a team and deciding you no longer are because they didn’t draft anyone from Clemson. If you weren’t a big fan of them in the first place then why should anyone care that you’re done with them?

Dave Gettleman mishandled the Smith situation, and it's one of the reasons that he's no longer the GM. Davis did himself wrong by saying it was his last season, then getting suspended for the 1st 4 games, and changing his mind about retiring after Carolina had prepared to move on. They've got former 1st round pick Shaq Thompson coming into a contract year and if Davis had stayed around, they basically never would've gotten a true look at Thompson to decide whether or not to extend him. And say what you want about Hurney from his first stint, but he's always nailed 1st round picks, and his work the past two offseasons has been fantastic.

Basically I don't give a rat's a** about the NFL or NFL team unless there is Clemson player on it. I was a Washington Redskins growing up, but years ago there was not too much reason to pull for them after Joe Gibbs left.

Agree. They have their own evaluations and maybe they like another player better than a Clemson guy. Not really a big deal to me. Panthers don’t hate Clemson. There job is to draft the players that they want. It will be funny if the panthers draft TL to be the replacement for Cam.

The biggest thing about trying to understand another's opinion is this, you don't have to understand it, like it, or accept it, just respect it bc it is the opinion of another that doesn't affect anyone else in anyway. It's very seldom that two people will have the same opinion that's inline with the other, everybody has their own!!!

Never fell for the Panther hype and have seen great Tiger players passed on by the Panthers time and time again. I know that they can't draft all the Tigers but there is a need every once in a while like D Lineman. That's one of the reasons I stayed a Falcons fan.

Um, they didn't need Renfrow because they already have 5 quality receivers including Chris Hogan who is very similar, and they certainly didn't need to draft Lawrence in the 1st round because they desperately need pass-rush help, and he's virtually a non-factor there. Not to mention they already have 4 DTs. The only argument you could make is Austin Bryant since he got picked 2 spots after Miller, but they wanted a true OLB more than a DE that might be able to play some OLB because they're going to be running a lot of 3-4 this year.

Plus idk why the panthers would draft a Clemson player just because they’re close to the college. It’s a business and their job is to draft the players they want, not target college players who are closest to Charlotte. Give it a break guys.

Absolutely. After last years draft, I sent a letter via email to the organization stating my long-term displeasure with their lack of CU draft choices and told them I’d never sink a dime into their organization. I hope they fail miserably!

knew Mark at Clemson, and he was a good guy.
I've often wondered if the decision over the entire Panthers organization to not draft a single Clemson player had something to do with Mark's Dad being upset with Clemson for some reason.
I just checked Clemson's historical draft history. Clemson has had a draft pick from every pro football franchise, except for the Panthers. Even long lost franchises like the Houston Oilers. The Baltimore Ravens was a move by the Cleveland Browns to Baltimore. Clemson had draft picks to the Cleveland Browns before and after the Ravens became a team in 1996.
Only the Panthers organization is without a single Clemson draft pick. It is extremely odd, if not intentional.

I was done with them almost day one. Richardson turned on Clemson over Sunday beer sales.

I was neutral on the issue, but big Jerry took it personal.

They sold beer in the Valley for the Panthers' games.

Yes they did. I witnessed many an inebriated fan stumble up and down and in and out of Death Valley during the games I attended during the Panthers inaugural season.

I’ve hated the Charlotte Panthers forever. Getting Scam Newton only solidified that hate. Yes, I’m an adult and I know hate is a strong word however, in this instance it is appropriate. Go Texans and Go Raiders!

In my opinion...he’s of low character, exhibits poor to marginal sportsmanship, has exemplified the “Me First, last and always” behavior on the field and was hustled to the highest bidder by his father (Auburn) after being released by the program of stellar character (Florida) for stealing his teammates laptops. That’s enough for me....

He seems well liked by most who have ever played with or against him. Heck, if Watson looks up to him after meeting him several times then that’s good enough for me. He also does a ton for charity in the Charlotte area.
So what about his dad trying to get money? Nobody even knows if Auburn paid him anything or not, and in any case, so what? There’s much worse things in the world than accepting money from someone when they offer it to you to play football.
As for the laptop, yeah that’s pretty crappy, but the dude was like 18 or 19 years old and hasn’t been in any trouble since.

So glad the Panthers don’t draft any Tigers. Hopefully our state legislature will put the kybosh on them moving their headquarters down here and giving them the outrageous tax breaks they want. Keep the Charlotte Panthers in NC! Better yet, move them to St. Louis.

You're obviously not a hardcore Panthers fan if you're getting on them for not drafting a Clemson player. The Panthers needed 3-4 edge rushers, the only Clemson player worth the grade was Dexter, but he's a DT. Why would the Panthers draft players they don't have need for just because they are from Clemson?

Join the Texans bandwagon brother, been on it since 2016 and haven’t looked back. But now I’m kinda starting to like the raiders as well, becoming a 2-teamed fan lol

but are quick to swoop in and sign some as UFA's. But then, they will rarely have a legitimate shot at making the team. Screw them. Houston Texans and Las Vegas Raiders, baby!
