Our 13 year old golden retriever named Ferguson, who our grandkids love unconditionally even though he regularly brings them chewed-up chipmunks, is having major surgery today. Not cancer, mind you, but serious all the same. See, Ferguson was chasing chipmunks amongs our tomato garden with all the cages pulled up and laying around and he managed to get the pointed end of one of the cages jammed up his rear end. It wasn’t pretty at all! Blood and turds were everywhere as Ferguson panicked. One turd Ferguson drug across our new carpet after one of the grand kids opened the back door.
Needless to say, Ferguson did some major damage to the house and his rear end. Need your T’s and P’s. TIA.

Thanks!! We had to put my lab down in early May. I had Jake for 13 years. We hunted together and he was the only lab I had to retrieve every bird. My son misses him and I hope to have a new lab puppy soon.

Prayers sent! I had a Golden for twelve years and had to put her down in January 1979. I have a bronze paperweight on my desk. She was my best companion and I still miss her.

Golden Retriever, Bowser. It ended up costing us close to 10k for the surgery and follow ups, but he was only 12 and it got us another year and half. He had a colostomy bag after the surgery, but we didn't have to take him for walks again. Hopefully you can be as blessed with Ferguson. Prayers sent.

Yeah, maybe he lets the chipmunks get to him. He chewed up my downspouts when they ran up them; hayell, he even pulled a downspout off the neighbors house. I hooked underground plastic drains to the downspouts, but he dug those up, too.
Maybe not the smartest dog in the world, but he is ours and we'll do what we can for him...
