Does anyone realize that Furman is 0-6?

Furman has not been good in a long time but 0-6?? Cmon Paladins. They have lost to Kennesaw State and Samford.

Do they get to play Scar this year? An unbeaten Furman beating them would easily top the citadel game

but Fowler was a downgrade as a replacement. The recent rise of the Citadel and UT-Chattanooga hasn't helped matters either.

Dadgummit - I grew up close to Furman, played in their gym as a kid, swam in their pond late at night, and loved Furman, but could not come close to affording to go there. I experienced my first and only orchestra there. I reckon I might have to consider learning to coach and go over there and get that program up to snuff. I would be better than Muschamp at least.
I just wish I could. I still love that school.

Let's just say it is a rebuilding year. It is tough to look at their results every Sunday.

Their WR coach seems like a good young coach. I believe he played at Furman and was really goos. I bet he will be an excellent coach and recruiter one day somewhere. The rest of their cpaces seem like they just tried to hire cheap and avoid spending any money, especially some of the defensive coaches

Probably should follow them more closely. Geeville native, good memories watching the bball teams at Memorial Auditorium with Clyde Mayes and Moose Leonard back in the day, and the football games at Sirrine. They had some great 1AA teams and rivalry with GA Southern. Used to be a giant killer and occasionally knock off a NC State or SCAR. Didn't know they'd fallen so far.

Arrrgghhh. You had to mention Clyde Mayes. Yes - awesome player. My HS was finally ready to win the State Championship, and suddenly Wade Hampton HS acquired Clyde Mayes. The rest is history as WHHS beat us for the State. Dang it. But Clyde was the best player in SC I think when he was in HS.

every day walking his dogs around a lake near me. I think he still lives in the sub-division, but haven't seen his the last year or so. I think he had a pretty good career playing professional ball in Europe.

Got to know him when he was inducted in to the SC Athletic HOF. Nice guy. Those Furman teams were really good. Him, Fessor Leonard, Bruce Grimm. Later Al Daniel and Jonathon Moore. Still remember when they beat State and the Holes on back to back nights in the old North/South Doubleheader in Charlotte

Yes, and being a Georgia Southern fan I love it. 3 teams I hope to never win another game. 1. Coots 2. Firman 4. The Irish of N.D.

I was at Furman in 1988 when we beat GSU for the I-AA Title.

Great rivalries with Marshall, App State & GSU.
All those programs went on to bigger and better things while Furman remained being happy being a small liberal arts school. Sad that even Wofford has passed a once proud athletic department.
As far as not liking Furman, no love is lost on GSU. Furman students couldn't stand GSU and thought it was a joke of a school. The only school worse than GSU was the Marshall Thundering Turd. Sadly, today I guess Furman's rival is Elon or something. I refuse to acknowledge the Citadel as a rival.

I'm not sure The Citadel now looks at Furman as a rival since they have kicked your A$$ 4 out of the last 5!

Furman used to compete nationally now they can't even win the FCS in state. Both the Citadel & Wofford have passed the Dins. Sad to see a once proud program fallen so far. But hey, Furman was ranked in the top 5 in most beautiful campuses! I guess all the money now goes to landscaping.

Did you know that Furman is our oldest rival? And also they have beaten us I think 20 times..Keep in mind this was back in the early 1900's up to 1938 when they won last..Just a history tidbit..I was told this recently and denied it until I did some research..Hope Furman turns this around..Go Tigers

Knew FU was not having a good season, but didn't realize they're O-fer. Always enjoyed watching them play at Sirrine and in their on campus facility until I moved to NC in the mid 80s. In the 60s and 70s, would go to the CU games during the day and the FU games at night, when the schedules worked out.
