And allow them to play at home until going to Omaha? Doesn’t the NCAA select the host sites next week?

In the past they have announced regional host sites Sunday. The rest of the field on Monday.

Yep the only way to earn 1 seed is to finish with a better record than unc. They own the tiebreaker

What is the tiebreaker that UNC has? We haven't played

them this year, so what is the next level in the tiebreaker rule? Most wins in own division or most against the other division? Best overall record or highest ranking or RPI? Whatever it is, I hope Swoffie can explain why it is better than a coin flip.

It’s the record vs the next best common opponent in the acc which would be ncst even if FSU sweeps them. they would have the same number of losses but fsu would have 1 less win due to a game being canceled.

Yes, a sweep of Pitt and a UNC loss gets Clemson a national seed. However, if the Tigers don’t take care of business this weekend but somehow win the ACC tourney, then Clemson could still be there. The 16 Regional locations will not be announced until after all conference tournaments have concluded. It’s a very tight race between UNC, Clemson, and NCSt for that national seed at this point.

Clemson and UNC could both get a national seed and right now it is very likely that will happen.

Agree with you. Unless either are swept this weekend plus embarrassed in the ACC tourney, both should be a national seed.

If Clemson sweeps Pitt then goes 0-3 in the ACC tourney they aren’t getting a National seed. Clemson needs to go 2-1 both weekends at minimum to ensure a spot in the top 8. If we don’t get a semi final app we aren’t making the National seed IMO.

Depends on what other teams do but I agree. We wouldn't really deserve it unless we make it through pool play.

and I doubt that hurts us to the place where we lose a Nat'l Seed with an, at worst, 43-15 record.
