Does a HOMECOMING Game bode well for home team?

Oct 16, 2018, 5:56 PM

Saying, wonder what our win-loss % is for last, say, 20 years.

Usually a different fan base since students tend to bring in girl/boy friends, mama/daddys, visitors, opponent’s fans, etc..

Thus, the mix in the stadium may not be totally filled with Clemson’s normal rowdy loud & true supporters due to many visitors there to look & be seen.

What see you?

The old, they have no respect. Such a lack of respect they scheduled you for homecoming. We'll show them..

I don't think our players will overlook this opponent at all. They know they've taken us to the wire the last 2 years.

No idea what our winning percentage is for homecoming games. Paging Tim Bourret

No!

IMO the team gets too much distraction from all the festivities that go on that week. That's why homecoming used to always be against a cupcake (like Virginia or Duke).

I've always thought we should schedule our homecoming during an off week so as to not disrespect any opponent.

I think this week it helps.

I think NC State is gonna come in with so much emotion with being underdogs, undefeated but not picked to win the division, still looking for a signature win, and now they are the HOMECOMING opponent?!?! They are gonna play so tight and over pursue and try to do too much that they are going to make some mistakes...

Home team tend not to cover the spread in HC games.

I think that would depend on the percentage of times said home team wins the coin toss, and percentage of time that team receives the ball first vs. defer to the second half.

In 1979, we played NC State for homecoming. We lost. I was not happy leaving the stadium. Of course, those were the years that the Wolfpack had our number.
