Does UCF deserve a reality check?

I would never consider UCF the national champs as they in fact did not win a national championship. They had an undefeated run against a lot of sub par teams and beat an Auburn team that had played a very tough slate before that game and had nothing left to play for in my opinion as UGA took away their chance of an SEC championship and a shot for the national title. Do you find this UCF team to be as annoying and whiney as I do or do you understand where they're coming from? I kinda think back to 2015 UNC with 1 loss and beating up on bad schools all year claiming they deserve a playoff spot.. At least they played power 5 teams (mostly)! UCF AD should put power 5 teams through the OOC slate and see how they stack up consistently if they want to be treated like a team with a much more troublesome schedule I think.

It’s the larger context that is disturbing. People used to be frowned upon, shouted down, ridiculed and made fun of when they made ridiculous statements and/or lied. Today those same people are called brash and we have a conversation about what is and what isn’t reality.
They’re the worst kind of liars, stupid liars. That it’s perfectly acceptable to be a stupid liar on a national stage is the part that bothers me. That didn’t used to be OK.

Like Clint above, it didn't bother me at first, and in fact I thought it was sort of a publicity stunt to get attention for a school that doesn't matter much in the grand scheme of things. But it's become ridiculous, and the whole fanbase seems to be "drinking the kool aid." If you are a fan of any Power 5 school, unless you hate Bama with an irrational passion, I don't see how you can be onboard with this. The whole thing is beyond idiotic.

In 1990 there was no playoff. In 2017 there was.

I didnt mind it at first... I thought someone needed to make a stink about it because it needed to be paid attention to but they have gone WAY farther than they should have.

It's no secret that the playoffs are based on strength of schedule and strength of record. If UCF wants more respect, they need to nut-up and schedule some real teams, and not just a couple of them and the rest cupcakes. So UCF, nut-up or shut-up.

But I still hate the fact that a solid half of the teams in the FBS have no chance of winning a title no matter their record. That system just makes no sense to me.

as they are intended to make a particular school feel better about themselves.
The NCAA site lists consecutive champions over the years, and that's the list that counts.
