Does Dabo keep his job if

Jul 24, 2014, 6:35 PM

We lose to theCoots again? I for one want to skull bash half of this state ! U can't have a conversation with these birds . All they can say is high five .....blah blah blah . Opinions?

badge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Most definitely. That game doesn't mean anything to them.***

His buyout is too big this year

Jul 24, 2014, 6:41 PM

And he has earned it. We aren't going to lose to them this year, so won't matter.

But to answer your hypothetical question, no he would not be fired.

The way recruiting is trending and the last few seasons, Dabo has many more years, multiple ACC titles, and at least one National Championship before he leaves.

IMO he deserved the extension I was just pointing it out to the OP

coaching or recruiting. Maybe a combination of the two but six straight loses---give me a break. Someone will have to to accept the fact that he just cannot beat Slurrier if this happens.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I'd personally like to break the 20 point mark on the Coots before we start making predictions like that.

I, FOR ONE, HOPE NOT!!!! I'D BE THE FIRST TO VOTE HIM OUT!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He should, but will not.

Jul 24, 2014, 7:50 PM

He should have been fired after 2 in a row.

His buyout is much too large, which is just another way too stupid thing we have done, thank you D-Rad.

But, even after my rant, I do like Dabo, I like his attitude, his recruiting, his ethics, but,

I do not like the repetitive losses to the Coots.

6 in a row, should be automatic Fired!

Re: Does Dabo keep his job if

Jul 25, 2014, 8:44 AM

The buyout after this season is something like $19 million. If you've got a spare $15 million or so to chip in then the BOT may be willing to come up with the other $4 mil. Outside of that, Dabo can probably go 0-24 for the next two years and still keep his job.

He's got an 8 year contract so evening firing Dabo after 3 years is the equivalent of a school hiring a guy at $3 million a year on a 5 year deal but then firing the guy before his first season and having to buy out the contract. Dabo is a long way from being fired. It will, as they say, take a naked boy or a dead woman to get him fired.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

This is a stupid question.

Jul 25, 2014, 8:47 AM

Quit being so myopic. Clemson football hasn't been this strong since Danny.

In fact, in many ways the Clemson program in 2014 is stronger than the Clemson program in 1988.
