Do you think we've been holding back on offense?

Early in the year our playcalling was very questionable, at least not what we're use to seeing. The last 6 weeks our offense has obviously looked spectacular but what im asking is do you think we've been holding back on some things for the playoffs or is what we've seen the last month or so the same as what we'll see in 3 weeks?

building experienced starters when these starters move on. I don't think it's about hiding offense at all.

I think so, but its hard to tell on TV what the defense is showing TL16, so he may be making choices based on what he's seeing.

just because we could, but I don't think you'll see any of that in the playoffs. Although,it does give the defenses one more thing to consider.

I believe that's more about making the game fun than winning. Imo, it's part of 'stop and smell the roses.'

We were so plain vanilla against ND last year in the playoffs that it was almost boring...not showing on defense or offense against a team that we were sure to beat and looking forward to a team that we probably feared or respected (remember the greatest Alabama team ever)! We let quite a bit out against the 'Flimsy Tide' and probably did not need to do it there either, with the score and all...maybe we just need to crush them all and then get some respect! Still don't think that is Dabos style...'just enough to win the turkey' is OK at Thanksgiving and Christmas!

I think we spend the entire season upto the USuCk game grinding down the burrs, sanding down the high spots, buffing out the sanding scratches and spend the USuCk and ACCCCG polishing our team to a high gloss.
We could have called plays which our guys had downpat early and made a much better show on the scoreboards but that wouldn't have developed our team to its maximum potential. How do you learn if you never fail?
I use to think we hid offense but the scope of what all needs to be done to be all we can be and win it all is broader than we average fans can comprehend. The next three weeks our coaches will tune up the engine and wax the finish on our F1 team and have it ready for every turn at maximum speed.
I'ma say it again, kill them all and let God sort them out.

We have not been holding back.
However, with three weeks to prepare, we have time to run different plays off of motions that other teams will not have seen.
I expect the offense to be 95% the same but the coaches will make some tweaks based on tendencies of our opponents.

Actually we do... dude above is spot on. We spend the season pocketing things and polishing up when we can. Normally I would say otherwise but if you look at the last 3-4 seasons its consistent, we look iffy but maneagable then post season we could beat the dang Patriots. Not sure why no ones sees this yet, that’s why when folks say “ y’all don’t look the same or good” I laugh it off cause we hear it every freakin year. A million people say it and I’ll say it again, college football plays checkers all season while Dabo plays Chess.

If tOSU OC and DC can each count to 33 they will see us throwing #1 for 30-40 minutes and #2 and#3 for the balance...They will need something stronger than Melatonin to get to sleep the next 3 weeks...

I've never bought that argument. As stated already we have polished, buffed, sanded, chiseled, grinded, pushed, pulled, built, demolished, framed, waxed, puttied, stirred, mixed, sauteed, and stir fried!
So I think we're good!

I wouldn't say holding back but I do think you will see us do some stuff in the next game we may not have done this season. I can also see us going against tendencies to keep them off balance.

Maybe a little. Depending on Braden Galloway's progression this year, who knows. I thought he looked good in the spring game. Getting him back could potentially be a big plus.

I wouldn't call it holding back, but there are parts of the play book that we have not felt the need to open up.
For instance, in the championship game we lined up a couple of times with Tee and Justin on the same side. I had not seen that all year long.

better as the year goes along, which is exactly what you should expect with continued good coaching.
ps, This is what frustrates me about Clemson basketball. I do not see evidence of improvement on those occasions that I tune in. I just see the same patterns of mediocre play that I have seen for years on end. I fervently hope we will care enough to correct this someday.

No The coaching staff runs a ton of plays the first five or six weeks after that they run the same five or six plays all year. When they reach the playoffs they set up in formations on down and distance and run a play off of it that the competition has not seen on film. Resulting in the long scoring plays we will be witnessing soon No other team has the staff (coaching, analyst etc) that Clemson has.
