Do You Remember the Thrill You Experienced When .........

Aug 27, 2018, 7:59 PM

You caught your first fish?

You got your first dog?

You, for the first time, rode a bicycle alone?

It was your first day in elementary school? In junior high school? In senior high school? In college?

You graduated from high school? From college?

You spent your first night in a tent in the woods?

You drove a car for the first time?

You tried to ice or roller skate?

You scored your first touchdown or made your first tackle?

You got your first hit when playing baseball?

You kissed for the first time someone of the opposite sex?

You had your first real date?

You entered military sewrvice?

The love of your life said "yes" to your proposal or you were asked by the love of your life to be his bride?

You accepted your first job?

You saw for the first time your first child?

*******************************************************************************

This is just for starters but it should make us realize that life is a continuation of thrills and most often, it is these things we look upon as being minor events that fill our hours, days and years with memories we can never forget. The attitude we assume as we pass through each phase of our life shapes our character and defines each one of us the person we are today.

When you watched the Tigers win their 2nd Natty on a last second play.

I have the photo of me that my son snapped just as #13 caught the pass from #4. I was just sitting there smiling. When we got the ball with 2 minutes left, I knew that we would win because that is the way that team handled its business.

Some great memories in those questions, and I remember all but a couple. Too young to remember the first fish. First dog was named Jack. Remember the first day in the first grade 67 years ago and about half of the classmates are still close friends. Graduations were special days. No tent for the first night in the woods and it was long, wet, and cold. The first TD, tackle, and baseball hits are fond memories. Received my AF commission on the Tillman Hall stage and proposed to my wife on Lake Hartwell. Seeing all 4 of my children for the first time were special. Life has been good me.

Honestly, I would have to answer NO to most of these. Maybe 3 at the most would be YES. Being old as dirt makes this harder. Can we have an easier quiz next week?

Senior quiz:
What did I have for breakfast yesterday?
What day of the week is it?
What did my wife ask me to do on my way home?
Did I pay the light bill yet?

Joe, you have a waaaaayyyy better memory than I could ever have.

Great thread. I woke up this morning with my memories of the thrill of my two favorite x-mass gifts. The year I got my sled it rained all winter, the year I got my bike it snowed all winter. The test ride of my bike in the dinning room did not end well. I would give it a zero out of 5 stars, would not recommend it.
