Did anyone get the Tommy Bowden feel from Right pregame?

Dec 3, 2017, 8:48 AM

He looked demoralized from the start

He does remind me of tommy cause he just stands on the sidelines and shows very little emotion. To me it’d be hard to play for somebody like that. But I truly believe he’s a good guy.

Why people still hate on TB is beyond me

We owe that guy a lot of credit for where we are today. Not saying he deserves a statue or anything, but there is no reason for people to take cheap shots at him almost a decade after he was fired.

I agree. He at least got CU off the floor, and was a big thorn in SC's side. He couldn't take us up to the top, but he started building the steps.

I figured all that money we gave him might make us even.

If he was so vital to our growth then why hasn't some other school hire him to get their program going? You think he had something to do with our success but none of the ADs across the country agree.

Horrible coaches get jobs all the time

Dec 3, 2017, 9:17 AM

Just look at Muschamp.

Maybe he was just done with coaching. It’s possible ADs did contact him and he turned them down.

He took Clemson, a 3-8 team, to a consistently good team. We beat FSU a few times after being owned by them so bad that before the season even started I chalked that up as a loss. He was HUGE in getting our facilities upgraded and that is reaping benefits to this day. And he insisted that Dabo replace him upon his firing when it would have been much easier to promote one of the head coordinators.

Do you disagree with any of that, or do you want to stay on your pedestal?

To clarify I wasn't taking a shot at Bowden . He made it cool to come to Clemson..Before him we weren't getting James Davis or CJ Spiller type players . BUT there were games where we were not in it from the start..You could see it sometimes by how Bowden was carrying himself.

He takes shots at Clemson all the time on the ACC network.
