Did anyone else notice the dual tailback formation?

Nov 26, 2018, 2:36 PM

We used a dual tailback formation for two plays during the second series in the first half of the game on Saturday. Did anyone else notice? We ran a screen pass to Renfrow to the right on the first play and a swing pass to Feaster on the right the second time. After that I don't recall seeing the formation again. I wonder what other plays that Scelliot have for this formation and if we'll see it again.

I'm good enough, I'm smart enough, and doggone it, people like me.

Yes--noticed the same thing. I think it's about maximizing play makers on the field.

Loved it. Run Feaster out wide for the option with ETN going up the middle looking for a toss inside.

Lots of possibilities with this formation. I want more of this come playoff time.

LOL - I kept thinking that one of them forgot to go out, but it was odd to see both of those guys in there. I wonder if the D peed their panties trying to figure that one out.

Yes and I'd love to see more of it.***

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

Me too...

Yes, it was the first time I've seen us run that set. I thnk it's the "Split Cowboy" from the Shotgun Offense:

OSU runs it:

I noticed it used twice against USCjr. It's a good setup to run dive, option pitch, counter, HB pass option. I expect with some of the talent we have, we'll see more of it.

Yep. Pointed out to the guy sitting beside me. Glad to see us test driving some new looks as we head into playoff mode.
