Did Urban try to extend his tenure by a year?

a few days ago it was being reported that Urban would retire after the 2019 season. Then there was a denial by Gene Smith, OSU Athletic Director.

Seems to me, Urban put out the first rumor trying to get another year coaching OSU.

What do you think?

Pres seemed to want him fired for the Smith incident cover up. I think the suspension showed he burned up a lot of good will w Pres and trustees. It wasnt going to be a long term thing going forward. This gives all parties and out in a graceful way. I do think this time the health thing is real too

I found it telling, when asked about it earlier the AD dismissed it, but urbane gave a " no comment " In two different pressers , I believe on the same day.

They screwed Urban over by suspending him. Now he returned the favor.
