Hes played pretty poorly during the preseason. I thought he was more ready than he appears. I hope if he plays in any regular season games he can play well. I had very high hopes for him but im kinda disappointed.

looked like a extremely promising rookie QB to me. He also was not helped much by the 2nd team receivers.

I honestly haven't watched much but what I have seen wasn't what I expected but he's playing against people who are 2nd team aswell so it should cancel that out.

I'm dumb and don't know football? Haha that's everyone else on tigernet. I mean I'm still in high school and stopped playing a few years ago but I made plays. Most everyone on here has a football IQ of a blue finned tuna. Or just sports in general. I'll stop now.

2nd team defensive lineman do not cause receivers to drop the ball and run shity routes, so I am not following.

Glad to know the preseason really matters to first rounders. Think about that, how many super bowl winning teams go 3 - 0 in preseason. This is to get a grasp of the offense, not be a world beater. He has also learned a new offense and is going under center for 90% of his snaps (something he didn't do at Clemson). Don't hate, just be glad we can say we have a first round qb in the NFL.

He's running for his life on most plays behind that 2nd/3rd string OL. Tom Savage would've been sacked on 50% of the plays DW4 has been in on. Quite a few dropped passes so far by his receivers as well. It's tough to tell how he's doing without seeing him play with their first string WRs and OL.

You're obviously trolling, and doing a terrible job at it. You just proved to everyone you're a coot. Have fun with NC State.

school you should show more respect to your elders, because the vast majority of the posters on here are probably old enough to be your Dad.
I suspect you are a middle aged SCAR fan, who never attended a day of class at the University of South Carolina.
Your posts certainly read like that is your background.

Listen Guy. In case you haven't noticed there is a large portion of fans here that don't like any negative talk towards anything Clemson in general. I don't know if you are a coot or not but if you aren't this is just the way it is on T-Net. I've been called a coot numerous times. I will say I disagree with you on him looking bad though. I think he's looked up and down. Some bright spots and some bad plays. Thats the rookie coming out in him. (A). Its still preseason. Until he's thrown in with the ones in a real game we won't know how he will do. (B). He's still learning the offense and hasn't built chemistry with his receivers yet. I'm not going to call your opinion stupid or call you a coot. Thats your opinion.

Hmm. Ok, I will bite. To be fair, Watson hasn't had the preseason we all would have loved to see, but as others has metioned, the wrs he was throwing too are not very good. I have stared following the Texans board, and their fans are frustrated, but not with Watson. Last night none of their better receivers were playing, their O Line is already questionable, 1st & 2nd string were bad last night. Don't get me wrong, Watson would likely tell you himself he made some bad throws, but he will be fine. I am personally fine if he sits on the bench all season. You mentioned you have not played a lot of football, so to put it in layman's terms, the average NFL offense is like learning Algebra. The Bill Obrien offense in frankly needlessly difficult aND is like learning physics while practicing mozart, blindfolded and wearing mittens.

Sorry all- I have side a bit with the OP. Caveat here is I only watched the first game and this last game.
I'll grant the receiver and O-line problems and maybe more so on the line play (as in we have no idea how good Kyle Parker was or was not- he never had a chance).
In the first game I saw poise and inaccuracy. He overshot several open guys but he ran well and didn't throw any dumb balls. I didn't watch the whole thing last night but I saw four or five possessions and saw no improvement anywhere and a lapse on the dumb "pick-me" balls.
He had moments of brilliance in both games (usually ending in a drop unfortunately for his confidence) but really just no consistency. What I really wish is that the Oilers were so totally sold on Savage that they would hold him out to protect him so Watson could run with the "ones" for a few series to get a fair test.
Remember, we were told by the experts that with the exception of QB, Houston was a very complete team. Maybe so but preseason has clearly shown us another problem- they just ain't two-deep much less too-deep.

Dw4's receivers and O-line stunk up the place. He is used
Aug 28, 2017, 10:49 AM

to receivers who go up and after the ball, even Renfrow, only 5'll inches would go up high, like he did in the end zone at the first of last year. Only Nuk and Strong, I saw in Houston's games would do that, and it is not fair in that he did not have a chance to play with them.
