Will DW4's ACL be stronger or weaker after surgery?

When it's repaired, do they do anything to make it stronger?

Generally the case

The big issue is mobility which depends on the early rehab process. Nobody will rehab harder than DW4. He'll be good to go by fall camp.

It’s along the same lines as Tommy John surgery. He’ll come back stronger. He knows what it takes to rehab through it and that’s 90% of the battle.

Stronger as far as tearing it again.

The guy who did my knee does the Lakers and other pro athletes in Southern California. That's what he told me, and that was 15 years ago. That doesn't mean it won't have issues with being sore or what not, with scar tissue and mobility. There can be other issues. That said, Deshaun is really young, driven, and will go overboard with rehab. He will be back 100% one day. I am sure he will be ready to play in 6 months, but in a year and a half from now it will be like it never happened and he won't even think about it. If he tears it again it won't just be because his knee is now weak.

Depends was this the same knee as before or the other one?

Didn't ever hear the answer to that.

Not the same knee that he hurt at Clemson.

In that case, it should be stronger then before with good PT

if it was a redo of the one he had done at Clemson, the prognosis would not likely be as good.

It should be stronger. The issue is that up to a year after the surgery he’ll have a higher chance of tearing his other one again due to the added strain from trying to protect the lates surgically repaired knee.

See Thomas Davis. He’s had like 3-4 torn acls in his career

Better. Stronger. Faster.
