UGA game

Jun 20, 2014, 9:52 AM

Am I in the minority to think that Clemson's defense will hold Gurley under 100 yards rushing? Even with Peters and Crawford being suspended. With the depth charts being released some of the young talents has obviously proven in practice they deserve to stay. I look for Barnes to have a better game than Vic against the Dawgs. The Dawgs know what Vic can do and will line a TE on his side to provide double teams. Barnes has a break out game and I honestly believe Crawford will have a hard time getting that spot back. Your thoughts Tiger Nation!

Depends on a couple of things...

How many times does he carry? Does he break one off for 50+ yards?

Numbers can be deceiving. You can give up 150 yards to a back, but if it's mostly due to a couple of big runs, those kinds of numbers aren't going to kill you if you're keeping him in check on most of his other carries. Now, on the other hand, a 100 yard game can be a killer if that back is setting up 2nd-and-3's or 3rd-and-1's all game long. If he's keeping the chains moving and we can't get our defense off the field, we're in big trouble.

I think Gurley will get his yards, but I think we will keep pressure on the QB all night with Vic, Barnes, and Lawson. I'm also interested to see who gets the snaps as that 4th DE with Crawford out. I truly believe if we protect the ball on offense, we are going to win this game.

we have huge depth at RB. The tiger 'D" will see a fresh Gurley for the entire game..... more especially in the 4th qter. Gurley, Marshall, Chubb, Michel, and Douglas will be in the rotation.

Gurley finishes with 17 yards.

Tigers win 52-7.

Book it. Easy money all day.

So Dawg - is Marshall recovered from his injury (knee? ACL?)

You might want to exclude him from your (short) list. And if memory serves, Gurley is probably dreading playing the TIGERS again after getting injured last year in our game. He had to play hurt against SC after that. Our D was weaker in that game than it is now - so tell Gurley to wear his 'big boy' pants this year, and stop acting like a wuss.

Marshall took part in all drills during spring camp sans contact. He is not limited this summer and projected a go by fall practice. Gurley pulled a thigh muscle during his 75 yarder versus clemson.....as much as you tigers want to think you hurt him.....well you didn't. Your defense was unimpressive to say the least versus ranked opponents and don't take my word for it...do some research.

Our country won't go on forever, if we stay soft as we are now. There won't be any America because some foreign soldiery will invade us and take our women and breed a hardier race.
