wrong. Have you ever flown an airplane? Takes off in shorter distance in cold than in hot.

Yep.

Because the air is denser.

I hate to get involved in this nonsense thread

But he’s actually right. Dense cold air causes greater wind resistance on projectiles. For that very same reason it also leads to greater lift efficiency on aircraft meaning more net left at lower speeds.

The ball is heavier in the cold. Requires more gas molecules to obtain the same PSI.

What happened last week in 70 degrees?

Air resistance is proportional to density

Nov 10, 2018, 10:27 PM

cold air is more dense. Air resistance increase when it is cold. The cold leather bounces less off of the foot. Ball is slightly heavier which means it takes more force for the same resisting force.

Balls go farther in warm air.

Also, frozen ball is harder and doesn't rebound as much as foot contacts it.

If a punted ball flies shorter in cold, dense air and there are no BC fans around to see it, does it make a sound?

GO TIGERS

The problem was, we did not reduce the PSI of the balls

Have we not learned anything from the Patriots?
