So were they planning on getting potentially eligible voters that had not voted on election day to send in absentee ballots late and then claim that they only sent them in late because the paperwork had said they had until November 8 to send them in?

If that's correct then that's some pretty shady stuff right there. I don't care which party you are affiliated with, this type of stuff needs to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law even if they weren't able to succeed in carrying it out.
