Daniel Norris wasn't one of the Blue Jays top 2 picks...

there were about 5 players that they drafted ahead of him. Their supplemental first round pick signed for $990,000. None of their draft picks has received a million dollars.

One of the picks ahead of Norris, Beede, has given every indication that he is going to Vanderbilt. Negotiations with the other kid ahead of Norris have not gone well either. At least one taken shortly after him has indicated that he is going to college as well.

Most are interpreting these developments as increasing the likelihood that the Jays will work harder to sign Norris.
