Dabo about to be on First Take

Was just watching First Take (I think it's on ESPN 2) and they said that up next they're going to have Dabo on in a few minutes.

4 take aways


1. He stays happy because of his faith
2. Our team isn't invincible and that we lost twice last year.(Some other ACC coach said we weren't invincible.) Dabo said he doesn't mind, because it is true.
3. He doesn't worry about pleasing everyone, because he feels it makes him miserable if he did.
4. He is happy where he is coaching at the moment.

Pretty good little segment for those that missed it.

Here's what was talked about:

- Dabo spoke on meeting Alabama 3 straight times, said that if you're playing Alabama in the post-season, you probably had a good season.

- Addressed Larry Fedora's comments about there being no link between football and CTE. Dabo basically said he wasn't a doctor and really didn't have an opinion, but he is happy with how the game has evolved and much more research is being done for things like this.

- Spoke about Deshaun Watson, why he thought Deshaun Watson was a must get player in the draft, and about why he has been so successful in the NFL. He also spoke about Deshaun's injury and how Deshaun was a bit bummed out when he first got injured, but Dabo gave him some encouraging words shortly after it happened.

- Dabo was asked about his personality and how he keeps such a positive mindset with his players. Dabo said it was because of his faith and because he knows who his Maker is.

- He was also asked about Paul Johnson saying that the Tigers "weren't invincible." Dabo basically said that Paul Johnson was right, they lost 2 games last year and they're not invincible.

- Dabo joked with the members of the show about Stephen A., and how his comments about how Clemson won't be able to match up with Alabama have been a great motivating factor for his time. Dabo said he "uses that" a lot (I'm guessing referring to "bulletin board material" as we call it). He also joked about how Stephen A. is never there when he goes on the show (Stephen A. was out for vacation). All of this was in good fun by the way.

Oh and also Carl made a point about the "positivity" question that I forgot about: Dabo said that he doesn't try to please everyone.
