and then some before he is done at Clemson......never thought anyone would top Ford as the man at Clemson..............Go Tigers!!!!!

Danny has a special place in Clemson lore.He will always be
revered by us folks who were there to witness his teams.
Frank Howard is another.Dabo will have his place but none
of those 3 men will top the other since they are from
different eras.All 3 are special.

I was a sophomore at Clemson when we won the national championship at Clemson in 1981.....and I still think Danny Ford is the man and can walk on water......however, I do believe Dabo WILL be the man by the time he is finished at Clemson....under Dabo we have been very good but better yet the best is still to come....Go Tigers!!!!

Anyone here heard of Tom Harper, Nelson Stokley, Les Herrin?

Those were the D Coordinator, O-Coordinator, Linebackers coaches from the first half
of the 80's, just to name a few. I had to look them up again. People know
coordinators now.

Ran the option back then, and played man to man.

Hard to compare eras in many ways.

I loved all those great coaches.I believe that tom and nelson have both
passed away.Nelson played QB at LSU.Tell me if i'm wrong.

sorry, although Dabo has done a great job, he's no Danny.... Danny's teams were nasty, Dabo's, don't have the kill mentality.
