Current version of OL will not get us to the Natty

Oct 18, 2016, 2:38 PM

Despite the positive spin about the OL after looking at replays of games we are in jeopardy here.If you pay attention you can see it. Auburn pushed the OL 1.5 yards into our backfield regularly. Last week when your OL man is standing up looking behind at the running back on the ground that's not a good sign.
When your QB points at you and says "that's you" on a busted screen pass, when they cant get to second level and QB has to take on LB that's not good sign. Unless improvement made at FS we will not go to Natty. Even today one interview says OL play is average......average not gonna cut it for 3rd team in nation. Hoping for significant improvement.Go Tigers

Really I see one glaring weakness

LG

Hyatt is doing pretty good considering he has no help from Hearn. On one particular play Hearn had two guys and instead of picking up even one he whiffed and let both by him. I'm pretty sure Fuller was there to take the inside man but Hearn just let the outside guy completely free.

Fruh needs some seasoning. He isn't terrible but he does need to play better. Crowder is a road grader/ Jay has been good and consistent.

I think we should see more of Simpson. From what limited action he has seen, he has impressed. He seems to understand the Oline and at least who to pick up. Heck give Maverick Morris a shot in there.

Hearn just isn't doing it for me.

it's been the weak link for the past 6 years...

and who has been the oline coach during this time? It's not a talent issue because over the past few years we have brought in a good amount of highly coveted Olinemen

They were good last year with a bunch of first time starters

for whatever reason the chemistry just doesn't seem right this year.
