And Andre Branch too, that same recruiting cycle. Goes to show that recruiting site rankings are only best used as a reference: they are NOT the true final word on a prospect's worth....

beginning with 2002 - the first year that Rivals started up their recruiting class rankings, South Carolina has had a total of 52 2* rated prospects. Clemson has had 51 in that same period.
The 2004 class year was strange: USC had 15 2*s in that class, more than double of their next highest number in any class. Clemson even out-did USC, with 19 2* prospects in the '04 class. Rivals must've been asleep at the wheel that cycle...

Hairston didn't have any stars. Don't think Gaines Adams did either - at least not when we offered.

I don't think those are evaluated and found to just be so bad they don't deserve stars....I think prospects who have no stars are simply not evaluated at all. They could be all-world 5* caliber players, as far as those online sites know....

On the other hand, our coaches seem to be better than average at finding these guys and coaching them up.
It is great to see someone like Hairston on Micheal Palmer do so well at Clemson and post Clemson.
