Tee Higgins offensive face mask penalty ... is that always

... a personal foul, or was Tee’s situation more egregious than a normal stiff arm?
I didn’t know a stiff arm to the mask was a penalty.
Amari did pretty much the same thing on the guy who got to him behind the line on his long TD run.

I saw a replay on Dabos tv show this morning and Tee definately grabbed it, and held on for a while. It was a penalty

Correct. A hand to the facemask is only a "facemask" penalty

if the facemask is grabbed. An open hand, as is often seen in a typical stiff arm, is legal. I had this discussion with a high school ref last week.

Speaking of penalties, did anyone understand the Personal Foul on CLEMSON against Mond in the A&M game for a low hit? Is that considered a Personal Foul? Just asking, I'd never seen it called before...

You used to be able to do it on offense, as long as you werent ripping or yanking. If it was just a way to hold them off, most refs wouldnt call anything. However, as the game becomes more sissified, more changes are enacted
