There has to be panic. I just seen a 70 yr old man in wal- mart buying up all the condoms. I was impressed and mystified at the same time

in my academic background (maybe Clemson). I’m not an expert _ but seems the early phase of the growth models referred to by the “experts” have similarities to this curve. The models used by public health and the medical communities are much more sophisticated. Regardless, when I Goggled this curve to refresh my memory, the significant containment strategies made more sense to me — simply a portfolio of tactics to flatten the growth phase of the curve so that the medical / health care assets are not overwhelmed. A flatter curve also buys time for warmer weather, vaccines etc.

I think there is science and math behind what the experts are telling us. To date, the simple, raw statistics do not seem to justify the significant containment strategies.
