Coronavirus: 2021 Rose Parade cancelled

PASADENA, Calif. — The Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association on Wednesday announced the cancellation of the 2021 Rose Parade due to continued government restrictions prompted by the coronavirus pandemic.
The cancellation is the first for the parade in 75 years, according to the Los Angeles Times. Since 1891, organizers said the parade has only been cancelled three times before, each during wartime.

I've always wanted to attend a Tournament of Roses parade and especially witness Tiger Band in the Rose parade. This year the Rose Bowl is a host site for the playoffs. Will just be my luck the Tigers finally make it to the Rose Bowl, but Tiger Band won't be able to be in the Rose parade.

Might well prove to be the correct move, but this seems premature 5 1/2 months out. We might have a vaccine by then though iffy. We may have even better treatments and the virus may be less potent by then. Little ole Orangeburg has canceled their deb ball which I believe is in January too. I am and have been for mitigation measures, but think pulling the plug on events this far out is somewhat premature and demoralizing if nothing else.

the floats were already behind, the bands haven’t been able to practice, etc. etc. So much prep goes into it
