You could be right but most of what I have heard and seen from Bama fans in my few interactions is that they can't stand the coots because Bama fans don't like the SEC coattail riders.

The coots are at the top of that list.

To be fair, Bama was an SEC from 1997 to 2007, Bama did a lot of riding themselves.

Being bad at football and chanting "SEC SEC SEC" while you are bad are two different things.

I didn't pay any attention to Bama fans during that time so I'm not sure how they acted, but now that they are good they do not like the fans who claim success without results on the field.
