according to the State paper this morning, the opener is the 8th.....tight on top of things. No way pieces of sod don't come loose with only 8 or 9 days to get rooted. it could be dangerous...despite protest the the contrary!

sod should be fine. they use huge rolls, not the small squares you might use in your yard. the weight of the large roll holds it in place. those rolls will weigh in the neighborhood of a ton and cover 300-400 sq ft. they are usually cut much thicker than "yard sod" giving them more root mass (quicker establishment) and adding to the weight and stability of the turf. yes, you may see "divots" come up, like in any sod, but there should be no more slippage than on a regular field
