Given recent "events" here in the Columbia area, Bill,

I'd say many recruits would rather be anywhere but Columbia.

In fact word around here is that many of the Gamecock faithful are supportive of a petition drive to relocate the University to a site even more remote than Clemson...like deep within the Pisgah National Forest!

When usc had spurrier, they pulled in the recruits like Clowney, but Dabo has changed all that.

Nebraska and Notre Dame . Both in the Midwestern boondocks with middling HS football going on in their vicinities...and then to have to rely on ancient accolades to pull in recruits from far flung regions of flat earth .
What south Florida or southern California millennial kid would want to play football in -5 Fahrenheit weather in Lincoln , Nebraska against Tulsa in the waning days of November ?

Traditional powerhouse means a lot less to these " What have you done lately " gamer kids that are now the top players around the country. Remember , the class of 2018 largely were not even alive at the turn of the century .
They don't know Knute Rockne from Dwayne Johnson.
