they lowered the boom on SMU.......this may not be the "death penalty" SMU received for football back in the 1980's, but it pretty severe...academic fraud, extra benefits, HC lying to or misdirecting the NCAA investigators.....any of this sound familiar??
If any sort of equivalency can be drawn from this particular case (and they're all judged individually), unc should expect worse penalties than these.

Penn State was cheating on recruiting or academics.They had a sick assistant
coach who was doing wrong things to young boys.The players were not guilty of
anything.No recruiting violations were cited.

got the equivalent of a knock out sucker punch from the NCAA, not a "slap on the wrist".
Penn State's issue was criminal, not academic or athletic.

They punish players for doing things at parties off campus. I think they can punish a program for covering up boy rape in their facility.

thats the schools. The NCAA didn't punish Lakip, Dabo did. The only thing that the NCAA cares about other than eligibility rules is drug tests.
