Committee trying to squeeze 3 SEC teams into playoffs

Nov 5, 2019, 10:29 PM

Bama beats LSU. LSU drops to #3 or 4
UGA beats Bama in SEC Championship. All of UGA/Bama/LSU remain in Top 4 with 1 loss.
Clemson and OSU fight for final position
UGA loss to Coots is long forgotten and buoyed by Top-10 win over Florida (ha)

I'm cheering for Auburn for rest of year. Georgia was almost a Top 5 team last year with 3 losses due solely to positive press coverage of their recruiting.

they will play the "they are ahead of uga because they lost to a ranked team" card.

It's only the 1st week of November, the full scale of CFB chaos hasn't revealed itself yet. Bama vs. LSU and OSU vs PSU will surely knock out 2 of the top 4, but don't count out Minnesota (against PSU), Auburn (iron bowl) and Michigan (Harbough's last straw against OSU).

The end result could be far from what we see today. My only wish: Clemson keeps winning.

And please don't rank Clemson #1.

Yep, there is plenty of time for chaos, but...

Nov 5, 2019, 10:57 PM [ in reply to Re: Committee trying to squeeze 3 SEC teams into playoffs ]

as long as a team controls it's won destiny, it doesn't have to be a participant in the chaos.

Only teams that don't control their own destiny are hoping for chaos. Losers want chaos. Those who keep winning don't care whether there is chaos or not.

There is no such thing as controlling your destiny here.

TCU was #3 in the next to last poll, won their last game 55-3, and dropped to #6.
The committee just does whatever they want and makes up reasons for it after the fact.

I'd say it's more likely they're doing everything they can to avoid the third year of a B1G-less playoff.
