That's the same salary as Muschamp at Florida. That's Arkansas kind of money. No way SMU has that much to spend on a first year coach. The guy who "leaked" this also reported Tx A&M had a deal signed to stay in the Big 12.

He also reported Saban to Texas for $10mil was a done deal!! Haha. Don't have much confidence in his reporting but others are picking it up so where there's smoke there's fire.

FYI...June Jones was making $2.1 so this would be in line with a move to bolster a struggling program.

Ssnow - you ever been to Dallas? There are hundred-millionaires everywhere in that city and numerous billionaires. When you can actually pump money out of the ground it creates a lot of wealth and it spends a lot easier.
