for 2nd in Wins with former Tiger coach Bill Foster at 156 and is just 21 from tying Cliff Ellis for the all time Wins total of 177

Even after all these decades, I still insist that the day Coach Foster left to rejuvenate the basketball program at Miami was one of the darkest days in Clemson basketball history....it could be argued the worst day in Tiger roundball history was the day legendary NCSt coach Everett Case somehow managed to convince Press Maravich to abandon a head coaching job at Clemson to become his assistant---I'm sure a significant amount of money was involved......

Bill Foster was a terrific basketball coach (especially for Clemson), a decent recruiter and a good guy. He ran an honest program. He took over the program after Tates Locke had gotten Clemson in serious hot water (3 year probation) with the NCAA and guided the basketball Tigers to unprecedented heights including back to back 20 win seasons which included a Final 8 trip.
