Who would you rather play
May 28, 2012, 9:02 PM
|
|
Oklahoma, Texas, Ok St., WVU, Kansas St, Baylor, Texas Tech, TCU, Iowa State, FSU, and Kansas (and yes FSU is going....if you cant see that your blind)
OR
GT, Duke, WF, Syracuse, Pitt, NC St, UNC, UVA, VT, Miami, BC
Just look at it it. Who in their right mind would pick option 2. Miami doesnt even create a good atmosphere when they are winning. The only team i enjoy playing in the ACC right now is VT

After FSU and Clemson leave, others in the ACC will vacate..

so option 2 is not relevant for very long.

The ACC cause we got great chance of going 10-2 11-1 every year as opposed to vs the Big 12. Who has better chance of winning the big 12 every year Clemson, OU or Texas? When honest with yourself it isn't us.

Where is the proof the ACC wont be in the mix? Just a bunch of opinions and no facts. The ACC will be one of the major conferences.ESPN wouldn't have given billions of dollars to the ACC if they weren't gonna be a major conference

"I get jacked when we play Wake." Most ludicrous, battiest statement in the history of mankind. Noon games against the likes of Wake Forest are the reason Clemson football and to a larger extent ACC football are perceived the way they are.
We should beat Wake Forest every single time we play them - that is not cause to be "jacked." I'm not jacked, most fans (yourself excluded) aren't jacked, and the players aren't jacked. This is why we DON'T beat them every time we play them - it's physically, emotionally, and mentally impossible to get up for that type of game.

Bryant,
I know you love the ACC, but if you cant see the impending demise of the ACC you are looking the other way on purpose.
Its over. The ACC let it be known after they added Syracuse. The Swofford machine is done.

May 28, 2012, 9:54 PM

a dying conference? Other teams will leave the ACC. Its probably going to be FSU. If we lose them, then our TV deal will be renegotiated for a much lower price. If we dont leave the ACC now, then eventually no one will want us when the ACC folds or falls down to mid-major status. If you want whats best for Clemson, then you need us to be in a respected conference.

Bryant if you and your coworkers saw the writing on the wall and knew your company could close, would you go with them to a new job or wait for the unemployment line?
By Clemson waiting for the ACC to fail we'll be sitting in the unemployment line while the other fill available spots. Let's use some common sense here.

if we go 11-1 we will not be in the BCS vs one loss teams from the BIG Big 12 Pac 12 or SEC.
We would be picked over.
If we stay in the ACC the only way we get in any thing is to go undefeated while other conferences have that wiggle room to have one oops game.
You are putting our guys at a competitive disadvantage by wanting to stay in this #### show of a conference.

the ACC isn't a major conference, when that happens ill be 100% on board with leaving. Right now I'd rather beat Wake every year then split with Texas, OU, WV, TCU OK st and K st at best. For those who say they'd rather be 8-4 in the Big 12 instead of 11-1 are just crazy. What's so bad about what Boise has done the last 5 years? How many teams from the big 12 have had better success than Boise st?

> Was it mediocre when we won a championship in '81?
You do realize that were it not for Penn State beating Pittsburgh a week after our regular season ended that we would have not won the national title? Pitt was #1 going into the games of 11/28, we finished the regular season on 11/21 and Pitt beat UGA in the Sugar Bowl.
Yes, we very well could have gone 12-0, beating 3 top 10 teams (UGA, UNC, and Nebraska)in the process in 1981 and finished second in the polls because Pitt was ranked ahead of us when we ended the regular season and finished #2. Remember, at the time the ACC was considered weak in football at the time (sound familiar?) so it took a lot of moving parts to fall into place for us to get the elusive title. The season before a one loss ACC Champ UNC faced a seven win Texas team in the Bluebonnet Bowl in the post season. Just 3 years before a one loss Clemson team faced a seven win Ohio State team in the Gator Bowl.

why has it been left to spiral down to its current condition.. Think how much Clemson fans have agonized over our football program since the early 90's.....and then multiply that exponentially by Pitts numerous NC's.
I'd be interested in hearing some opinions from Pitt fans as to exactly what the scenario has been

A 6-6 sec team isn't relevant but 11-1 Boise has been. All about winning. SC was 11-2 and beat Clemson yet Clemson got all the national hype and who everyone was talking about when we were 8-0
