best result we could have hoped for. Akron was by far the better team in regulation but couldn't put the ball in the back of the net.

Kinda like the Clemson-Syracuse game where the Orangemen out shot the Tigers in Regulation and were clearly playing better but the Tigers dominated the 2 OT's and the Penalty Kick round...So Thankful to have Andrew Tarbell as the Goal Keeper for the Tigers

If it were't for the Akron students, there would have been zero noise I feel bad for all the players that there was almost no one there.

I'd rather have no noise than those clowns making fools of themselves. They were chanting "Andrew sucks" at our goalkeeper during PKs, and their team wasn't even playing.

yea seemed like a good idea to put the NC tournament in the middle of the USA... except for the fact that 90% of the decent NCAA soccer programs are on the east and west coasts. Oops.

Yep. Used to go to it every year when it was held in Richmond Va before it moved to (I think) Charlotte. Tons of fun but the final always seemed to be the coldest day of the year. Every tournament match there looked sold out to me though (might have been because UVa went far just about every year).
KC has a great youth soccer system and a lot of soccer fans but I agree, the perennial NCAA soccer powers are on the coasts. Hope they move the tournament back east some day.
So glad I won't have to hear those Akron fans Sunday. Go Tigers!

Our first kicker, the Akron fans chant "concentrate", "concentrate"....etc.
Our guys steps up, drills the kick, and then looks at those kids and makes a motion like "take some notes"
So then, Syracuse kicker steps up and the Zap fans are chanting "Andrew Sucks...Andrew Sucks" (at our keeper) ... and he saves it.
Then we win. And they say "we want Clemson".
Cool Story Akron. Thanks for driving out.

He said made the "take notes" motion to the Syracuse goalie. He had a list of notes for each Clemson player's tendencies on PKs.
