Wow nice click bait.

Looks like she would be a very good hire.

She played at UNC (which is a strike against her in my book), but she did great there, winning a national championship, being the Final Four Most Outstanding Player that year, and also being an All-American. She played on the Olympic team and also played in the WNBA. She was an assistant at UNC before taking over as Elon's head coach. She has won almost 60% of her games there in six years, which is no small feat since they moved up from the Southern Conference to the Colonial Athletic Association after her third year there. This past season, they won the CAA, finishing 16-2 in the conference and 22-7 overall.

I don't know anything about her other than what I just read, but she is from Shelby, NC so she knows the region. Her playing career in college and the WNBA has to count for a lot. Plus, she has been around a very good program at UNC, although she will have to enforce class attendance and overall academic excellence at Clemson - something she did not have to do at UNC.

vaguely remember her playing at unc. but i went to the elon site for a bio/records, etc. she hasn't really set the woods on fire there, has done well, got them better. no doubt CU would offer more support to the program than elon can.

but here's the kicker.. her top asst is... wait for it.. Christy Mckinney, the ex womens HC at CU. another asst is tasha taylor, an ex tiger player.

That doesn't inspire too much confidence

To be honest. Seems barely better than Audra Smith.

Nothing wrong with either assistant coaches for Smith. I would imagine both would be amazed by the upgrade to LJC and would work quite hard to have success here.

Go Tigers!

Are we going to interview Susan Smith?

Apr 5, 2018, 8:59 PM

Or Barbara Smith?

How bout Valerie Smith?

Considering Rhonda Smith?

And don’t even think about Shelley Smith. She’s the coots wimmenz soccer coach. That would make no sense at all!

I would favor Jaclyn Smith, but she is getting a little old!***
